Night Harvesting

Summer has arrived once again and with it comes the challenges of keeping the turf nice and wet, with round the clock irrigating.

In extreme heat waves such as we are currently experiencing we have to resort to night harvesting, in the early hours of the morning or late at night, to prevent too much heat building up within the pallets of turf.

For turf pickups that are harvested during the night & collected through the day these are placed in the shade of the shed and are regularly watered to keep as fresh as possible.

Most people are concerned about laying turf in the middle of Summer, but as long as you have the water to keep it nice and wet, its not an issue.

The warmer the weather, the quicker the roots will establish.
